Important Announcement! Changes coming to AK HPNA in 2023!

The AK HPNA Board would like to share some exciting news regarding upcoming changes to our organization.
At the close of 2022, AK HPNA will be merging with the Palliative Care Action Network (PCAN), an Alaskan organization established in 2015 that includes all medical professionals, social workers, and community members with an interest in hospice and palliative care, whose mission is to support palliative care through collaboration and education to empower a dynamic network of individuals, agencies, and communities to share tools and resources across Alaska. Merging with PCAN will allow for the continued support of Alaskan hospice and palliative care nurses while also building important interdisciplinary relationships and minimizing redundancy in our efforts.
As you may know, each October PCAN hosts a Palliative Care Symposium that brings together palliative care providers from across Alaska to share information and resources. This is just one of the ways PCAN is engaging with our community to promote excellence in palliative care. As part of the merger process, we will be sharing our membership list with PCAN so that our members will continue to receive information about educational and professional opportunities in hospice and palliative care. If you are a member of AK HPNA and do NOT wish to be included in the PCAN membership list, please email AK HPNA at ahpna2017@gmail.com by December 31, 2022, and your email information will not be shared.
